What's next for image boards?

I'm in the process of developing the next iteration in the evolution of image boards. As of this moment, the following is planned:
- Tagged threads rather than isolated boards
- "Friends" capability, basically a Twitter-style following of other posters
- Voting system for top threads. If you don't have much time to browse, you have the option to show only the best voted threads. This gives a quick summary of recent activity on the chan.
- Voting system for thread archival. This might be tied in with the above voting system. Top voted threads will never die. A marker is inserted after the last post indicating when the thread officially "died" but replies will still be possible.

These ideas are a little half baked. That's why I need help. If you could change any part of the structuring of image boards, what would be different? What would you add? What would you remove?
